Animal Protection concerns us all! Various Slovakian animal protection organizations are following with great concern the increasing number of illegally captured animals, animal cruelty and, in particular, illegal and cruel killing of newly strayn and newborn animals throughout Slovakia. The license allows the skinners to capture free-bred animals, but they are obliged to keep them for 60 days. It is only after the animal is declared to be unclaimed that they can have a humane euthanasia carried out by the veterinarian. Thus the law prescribes it.

We hope that you help us solve the problems. Otherwise, Slovakia will continue to be the sad example of a European country in which the situation of the free-roaming animals is handled inexpertly and with the utmost cruelty. We are also increasingly made aware of the problem of illegal capture and cruel killing by foreign animal protection organizations as well as by the public at home and abroad and through the media.
