On March 12 2014, the Samaritans distributed free food to all animal-loving customers in their Social Market. There was nothing missing for the darlings of hundreds of Social Market customers: At 9 A.M. the Vienna Samaritans started their big campaign distributing 1.2 tons of dog and cat food for free.

„Domestic animals represent an important emotional support for many of our older customers living alone. We are happy to be able to support them with free food for their beloved animals", Mag. Oliver Löhlein, managing Director of the Vienna Samaritans, said.

The quality pet food is donated by "Animal Protection concerns us all!". After personal research in Vienna's Social Markets, the food supply of the needy, we had to recognize that Social Market customers had few to no possibilities at all to buy cheap pet food. Social Market organizations meet major obstacles providing affordable pet food. The purchase prices are simply too high to sell it cheaply to the needy" says Sabine Urbanek, Chairwoman of "Animal Protection concerns us all!".

The Vienna Samaritans thank "Animal Protection concerns us all!", which will continue providing it with cheap pet food, for the generous support.
