We've done a lot ...
but there's so much more to be done!
In order to oppose a deplorable situation in Russia, we must organize togetherness. In the biggest country on earth, there is virtually no or completely inadequate legal protection for animals. Especially with dogs a real massacre takes place on the streets. Sometimes the residents of villages and cities have to witness the cruel killing of their four-legged friends. Out of fear and uncertainty, the population usually doesn't oppose this public slaughter.
Groups have mobilized to discuss how best to combat the abandoned, homeless and stray animals. The abuse also extends to cats and birds. The animals are tormented until they die under hellish pain. But that's not all. These self-proclaimed animal catchers record their atrocities in image and movie reports. The authorities confront accusations of citizens with the "necessity" of this approach. Without it, rabies transmission and biting attacks would gain the upper hand. Due to this reasoning by the corrupt authorities, it is extremelz difficult to achieve a legal basis for animal protection. Through a growing animal welfare lobby, however, and by the increasing pressure of national and international animal protection organizations, we can advance the creation of an animal protection law.
